I was wondering how are you able to stretch yourself so far when it comes to creating. You paint , photography, design, have your own clothing line ,your blog and still constantly networking... and dont you still have a day job?How do you manage it all? And does is sometime feel like your not able to balance your art the way you want to?Do you sometimes feel like your painting too much and need to take more pictures....Or designing more and put your blogging on the back burner?
I will tell you it’s all about meticulously scheduling your time. You have to be almost OCD about it. I also have a pretty specific schedule I follow every day. I also take advantage of breaks in time here and there. For example, if I have a 15 minute gap at any point I’ll fit in something that I can knock out quickly in that time. Sometimes I have to break up projects and do them over the course of a few days. It’s a STRESSFUL and EXHAUSTING way to do things, but Its just how I’m wired, so it works for me. I definitely wouldn’t suggest it for anyone else, they’d be miserable. I just happen to enjoy working. I hate idle time.
And I battle with my different skillsets all the time because my brain is also wired to focus on one thing at a time. So I’ll get into photographer mode and only want to shoot pictures. Then I’ll realize I haven’t painted anything in weeks, so I’ll go hard into painter mode, so on and so forth. I’ve tried to do all of them at once to keep balance but the quality suffers in them all in my opinion, so I’ll just keep doing it the way I have been so I can truly focus on one skillset at a time.
